No Plans is Cold Chiselâs seventh studio album, originally released in 2012 and marking their first collection of new material in many years. What began as a quiet recording project soon took on deeper meaning following the tragic passing of drummer Steve Prestwich in early 2011 â an event that profoundly shaped the spirit and emotional weight of the record.
Rather than shelve the sessions, the band chose to press forward, completing the album with producer Kevin Shirley at the helm. Prestwichâs presence is woven throughout, most poignantly in the track âI Got Things To Do,â featuring his vocal performance discovered late in the mixing process and included alongside the finished version sung by Jimmy Barnes. The album also includes Don Walkerâs lead single âAll For You,â widely regarded as a modern Cold Chisel classic.
Raw, reflective and powerful, No Plans captures a band confronting loss while reaffirming their enduring chemistry and creative strength. Originally released on CD and digital formats, the album has never before been available as a standalone vinyl edition â until now.
